I was thrilled that you were able to come and read some of your poems as having heard many before I think they are very funny and observant and I was not disappointed. Our members certainly enjoyed your poems and like me found them very amusing which was evident by the laughter and for many that is very important. Thank you for coming all the way to Norwich your journey was well worth it as it brought a lot of pleasure to many people. Joy Raymer Secretary

There were broad smiles and plenty of laughter as Doreen Read recited her very amusing tales and poems. Rather like an artist who paints what they see, Doreen put into words very cleverly things which surround her in everyday life. Les Sarton in his vote of thanks expressed the thought that although he had not heard of Doreen before today she certainly had the Pam Ayres touch. She deserved the great round of applause at The Pheasant Hotel on Thursday 15th April. (Holt Times)

Just to say, again, Doreen, how much I enjoyed your stories tonight. As, I believe I said to you, I do not like comedians and don't find them funny but you did make me laugh tonight. You were brilliant! Hope to see you again sometime.
Kind regards Judi
